Peak Climbing Programme – 8 day
Duration :
8 Day

Trek through deep snow, through snow laden thick oak forests and across snow fields. The route is an easy trek in summer time, but in winter it can be a challenge. The temperatures will be sub zero. You should have basic fitness, willingness to walk and a strong will power to fight all odds of nature.

How To Get There :

By Air
The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant in Dehradun. However it is convenient to use roads or rail to Delhi and then take the flight to Haridwar.

By Train
The major pilgrimage center of Haridwar is well connected by trains to almost all the major cities in India.

By Road
Haridwar is well connected to the major cities in India. The National Highway no.45 crosses the city of Haridwar and links it with Delhi, which assures a comfortable travel to Haridwar.

Itinerary :

Day 00
Departure from Delhi by overnight train to Haridwar

Day 01
Arrival at Haridwar, travel by road to Syalsaur for overnight stay

Day 02
Drive to Sari Village, Trek to Deoriya Tal Lake ( 2400 Mt ). Very beautiful view of Chaukhamba peak can be seen from here. The lake is small and round, on the top of a ridge, besides a forest.

Day 03
Deoriya Tal to Bana Gher ( Thach ). The trek goes through thick forest. The ground will be laden with deep snow, and would need effort and grit to cover the required distance.

Day 04
Bana Gher - Tikar Khal - Gaddi Camp. Jungle walk, with lot of snow. Possibility to see a stream which can be frozen or have a frozen surface. This would be a tiring day.

Day 05
Gaddi Camp - Tunganth ( 3680 Mt ). The trek ascends above the tree line, and very beautiful Himalayan scenery to behold. The camp would be established overlooking the entire Chopta valley, which is also called the Switzerland of India.

Day 06
Tungnath - Chandrashila ( 3810 Mt )- Tungnath. This would appear like a near climb. Negotiating a steep gulley right in the beginning, and thereafter a continuous climb to reach the peak of Chandrashila which offers a 360 degree of view of Garhwal Himalayas.

Day 07
Tungnath - Chopta road head. Drive to Syalsaur for overnight stay. The walk down will be almost through out downhill. We will walk till the  road head where the transport can reach us.

Day 08
Drive to Shivpuri, Haridwar. Catch overnight train from Haridwar.

Rs 3000 per person.

  • Transport provided is beyond Manali.

Peak Climbing Programme – 11 days

Duration :
11 Day

A mountaineering expedition which is focused on giving skills, training, and complete experience of a real climb to a first timer climber. It is a difficult trek, and an easy mountain if we were to summarize it in short.

We give lectures, and trainings on knots, rope usage, technical equipment usage, skills practice and training on safety, rescue and emergency situations. Every day would have some sessions which will be focused upon imparting some knowledge to the participants related to climbing ethics and techniques.

How To Get There :

By Air
Nearest airport Delhi(611 kms) & Chandigarh(272 kms), which are located at convinient distance from Manali.

By Train
The nearest railhead is Chandigarh, which is the capital city of Punjab and Harayana The city, which is an important rail station in northern India, is linked to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai by rail.

By Road
Manali as a popular tourist destination, has a very good network of roads. One can easily reach Manali by road. Many other prominent cities, like:Shimla (240 kms), Chandigarh(272 kms), Delhi(611 kms)are located at convenient distances from Manali.

Itinerary :

Day 01
Arrival at Ekant hotel in Manali. Day at leisure to relax after the overnight journey.

Day 02
After breakfast, go for an acclimatization hike to the massive Jogin Waterfalls. After lunch take stock of the equipment and organize personal gear and common gear for the trek.

Day 03
Drive to Dhundhi, from where we start the trek. Trek till Bakarthach. Overnight tents.

Day 04
Bakarthach to Byas Kund basin trek. Overnight tents.

Day 05
Byas kund to a higher base camp. Overnight tents.

Day 06
Base camp to advanced camp ( summit camp ). Overnight camp.

Day 07
Rest day at advanced camp. Overnight camp.

Day 08
Summit attempt. Return to base camp. Overnight camp.

Day 09
Base camp to Bakarthach through alternate route. Overnight camp.

Day 10
Bakarthach to Dhundhi. Drive to Manali. Stay at Ekant hotel.

Day 11
Rest day at Manali. Evening departure for onward journey.

Peak Climbing Programme – 13 days

Duration :
13 Day

Take your first steps into Mountaineering. This expedition is designed for ambitious enthusiasts who wish to go beyond trekking into the world of mountain climbing. The climb would involve alpine and snow sections, and would gain maximum altitude of 5300 Mtrs at the Shetidhar summit.

This climbing expedition is operated like a guided trip, assuming participants with no experience in climbing. All participants are given basic instructions and skill training on the use of technical equipment used for alpine/snow climbing such as crampons, ice axe, ascenders, climbing ropes etc. as they would proceed in the expedition.

The expedition would start from Delhi, and all transit hotel stay in Manali would be organized by us. Full logistics support would be provided during the trek/climb for transfer of camping gear and mess facilities. Participants would be required to trek/climb with their backpacks.

How To Get There :

  • Departure from Delhi is expected in evening of Day 0 ( around 4 PM )

  • Arrival back to Delhi is expected in morning of Day 14 ( around 9 AM )

  • We would organize Delhi-Manali-Delhi travel by AC Deluxe 2x2 Buses

Tips :
Personal torch, appropriate footwear, fleece body warmers, windproof jacket and lower, warm headgear, UV protection sunglasses, gloves, warm socks, suitable backpack, camera etc. has to be brought by participants.

General Notifications :

  • Minimum age for participation is 15 years.

  • Participants would need to follow a personal physical training schedule prior to departure.

  • Accommodation provided during transit stay at Manali would be in simple mid-class hotel.

  • Hotel stay at Manali is on bed/breakfast basis.

  • This is not a luxury trip; days would be tiring and intensive.

  • People with past history/ailment of heart, asthma, epilepsy are not recommended to register for this expedition.

  • Weather disruptions may at times result in discomfort or unplanned adjustments

Mountaineering is considered an extreme sport and has potential risks. Participants are expected to understand the hazards and would be required to sign an undertaking/disclaimer prior to participating in the expedition.

Itinerary :
The duration of 13 days of this course are organized as follows:

Day 00
Departure from Delhi by overnight AC bus for Manali (Himachal Pradesh). Departs in evening

Day 01
Arrival at Manali in morning. Meet our coordinator at bus stand, transfer to hotel. Orientation program after the participants have freshened up. Day at leisure, town visit for last minute shoppings. Overnight at hotel

Day 02
Post breakfast we go for an acclimatization hike. Remaining day is at leisure. Equipment is issued and packed for the expedition. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03
Transfer by road to Dhundhi from where the approach march starts. Trek to Bakarthach. Setup camp. Overnight at Camp.

Day 04
Trek from Bakarthach to Beas Kund. Short climb over a steep rock and scree ridge to enter into the Beas Kund basin. Overnight at Camp.

Day 05
Today we would establish our base camp at as elevated ground as possible. We would climb further from Beaskund on the shoulder which leads towards the peak that we are to climb. Overnight camp.

Day 06
Load ferry from Base camp to Advanced Camp. Overnight at camp. Enjoy the high altitude experience from this camp. Great view of snow clad peaks all around.

Day 07
Rest day at Advanced Camp to acclimatize better for the summit attempt. Advanced party would setup ropes at steep sections of the climb.

Day 08
Summit attempt would start very early in the morning around 3 AM. After the climb, return to advanced camp. Overnight at camp.

Day 09
Return trek to Base Camp. Overnight at camp.

Day 10
Trek from Base Camp to Bakarthach across a steep rocky pass over the Lady Leg ridge to enter a different valley. Camp is established on a grassy hump across the Bakarthach glacier. Overnight camp.

Day 11
Return trek to Dhundhi, further transfer by road to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12
Rest day at Manali. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13
Day at leisure. Evening departure from Manali to Delhi by bus. Arrival to Delhi in morning of Day 14.

Cost :
Rs.35700 per person

Cost Includes :

  • Delhi-Manali-Delhi to/fro by AC deluxe bus, hotel stay in twin share at Manali as per the schedule above, technical climbing gear as per needed, camping gear, kitchen and mess facilities on the expedition, all rations, logistics for the expedition, porters, guidance, permissions, instructions and safety standby support.
